(a term I used quite a bit)
Let me paint the picture for you of how it all went down.
All of us spouse's gathered at the campus library bright and early ONCE A MONTH. We all piled ourselves into buses to make the hour long trip down to Roseau for food that we had in mind,that may not even be in stock.
Lets just say sometimes these very long days could be hit or miss.
That makes for a very grumpy wife doped up on Dramamine and for a very hungry husband saying over and over "I'm so sorry I brought you here...." haha. Oh the joys of shopping days to Roseau are long gone, thank you God.
So with all that being said let me introduce to you the newest addition to the little village of Picard, where they have been building for the past 16m the most beautiful grocery store in Dominica. And yes, it opened just 2weeks before I leave this place.

I saw people taking family picture by the meat section, no lie.
This truly is a wonderful thing. It will provide lots of jobs for the locals, and they need them. Overall its going to change EVERYTHING for the GOOD and I'm happy for everyone who will get to enjoy this lille jewel called the IGA.
hooray! the original opening date was in august (2010), then they bumped it to december. we were done in december, and i was SO hoping it would be finished by then, but then they extended it again to february/march... turns out they meant april. good old dominica. but at least you can enjoy it before you leave. hooray! :)
